This is the time of year when I complain (a lot) about having nothing to wear.  The first problem is that the days start out chilly, and then by the middle of the afternoon, you’re too warm.  Then I still have my mother’s voice repeating in my head things like “no white or summer dresses after Labor Day.”  But the truth is, there are really no steadfast rules when it comes to fashion, so here are 5 tips to help us all as we transition our wardrobes from warm weather to cooler weather.

I remember the first time I heard of someone displaying their wedding gown – it was on HGTV.  For the life of me I cannot remember the home improvement show, but the newly-married bride wanted a special sitting room designed specifically around her wedding gown that she wanted to showcase on a body form.  Immediately this thought popped into my head – how’s the dress going to hold up?

On March 3^rd, an employee of my husbands approached him asking if he knew of anyone that could help her with her wedding veil.  She wore it 25 years ago on her wedding day, and now her daughter wanted to wear it on her wedding day which was just three months away.  The problem was that Lori never had the veil cleaned or preserved after wearing it; she simply stuck it in a plastic bag and stored it away, and now, sadly, the lace and sequins had yellowed to the point that it couldn’t be worn.
